I have watched many version of "Return of the Condor Heroes" from Taiwan, Hong Kong and even Singapore (played by Fann Wong and Christopher Lee), but Andy Lau's version is still the best. But, recently I happen to catch an episode of the China's version "Return of the Condor Heroes" on TV and fell in love with the show, it was a good production. The lead actor and actress who played "Xiao Long Nu" and "Yang Guo" was so right for their role!
Okay okay, I admit. I fell in love with the actor who played "Yang Guo", Huang Xiao Ming. He has a certain charm, is a good actor, can sing too! He remind me of the young "Chow Yun Fatt" but better looking lah! I know my dar will be jealous because I put up alot of "Huang Xiao Ming" photos on my computer's desktop!!! ;)

Chinatown. Red Light District?
3 Comments Published by pink dimple on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 9:12 PM.
Has anyone been to People’s Park Complex lately? Maybe it’s no big deal to some people but I’m so disgusted by what I saw! Ok, I know of several incidents of “China mama” being arrested at Pearl Centre providing “special” service to men but since the police raided that area, I thought that Chinatown would be rid of these ulgy sight. But I was wrong, what I saw at people’s park complex was very disturbing for me.
Chinatown has always been a multiracial place that welcomes visitors from all nations. Tourist comes to Singapore’s Chinatown to experience the rich customs and traditions of the great cultures of Asia but instead, Chinatown has turned into a “Red Light District”?
Last night, I was at People’s Park Complex meeting a friend for dinner at one of the fast food outlet. The moment I walked in, I noticed a group of “Ah beh” (old man in hokkien) chatting away in mandarin, with them is a woman in her mid 30s. One look at her, I could tell that she’s a china woman, the moment I heard her talking, I was right.
I bought a drink and found a table that was just a table away from their table, although the place was noisy and crowded but I could still hear them talking. I overheard the “Ah beh” asking her in mandarin: “You got see your man’s wife??” I didn’t think much and took out a book to read while waiting for my friend, then I noticed another “couple” - another old man (grey hair, maybe 65 -70 yrs) with a woman in mid 30s (China woman) sitting at a table in front me. Looking at their body language, I’m sure they are a “couple” because the woman was “feeding” him food and the old man has his hand on her lap. The next moment, the woman from the group of “Ah beh” came over to sit with this couple. It seems to me that both woman are friends and when the old man went to the toilet, the two woman begin to gossip, I couldn’t really hear what they were talking. I wasn’t spying on them, it’s just that they were sitting infront of me. Anyway, I was feeling disgusted by this china woman with an old man who can be his grandfather and I am sure it’s not because he’s good looking.
Then I realised that the place is “infested” with not just “China woman” but also Filipinos girls, as young as 19 years old! There’s 2 of them sitting next to my table with a young indian chap, the guy asked about their age and that’s how I knew. He began asking both the girls about their names. Obviously they just met and these girls were behaving funny as if they were on a look-out for something. When I look outside the fast food outlet, I could see more of these girls roaming the area, some of them were seated on the side walks of the shop chatting with men (I don’t think they are locals, I learnt later that these men are sailors). Some walking aimlessly from one end of the complex to the other end. It seems that these routine has been going on for quite awhile, the girls, mostly filipinos roamed the area in groups of 3 or more, dressed in revealing clothing with heavy make-up!
When did Chinatown became a “Red Light District!” Where did all these young Filipinos girls come from? Are they students? Are there on social visit? How did they end up here? And the scary thing is, they are doing it openly in public? Is it legal? Why is it allowed? All these questions went through my mind and I have no answer ...

Heroes Ep.21: The Hard Part
0 Comments Published by pink dimple on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 4:17 PM.Previously on heroes, Hiro and Ando teleport back on to the rooftop. Hiro stands on rooftop and shouts “Don’t worry New York, we will save you!” (He’s so cute! ha ha!)
Next scene at the Petrelli residence, Peter is sketching the aftermath of the bomb (he has Issac’s power) as he see Claire standing at the top of the stairs where she sees Nathan walk in holding his two sons and wife. Peter glances up to see Claire, and goes upstairs to talk to her. Peter’s Mum is helping Claire to pack as she wants her to go to Paris during the Nathan’s Election, Peter goes in and asks to talk to Claire. Peter tells Claire that she can’t leave because she has to save the world. However, Claire claims that this is all so unreal. Peter tells her about the bomb, saying that he will go nuclear. “Nuclear?? Like Ted?” Claire askes. (Ted is the guy with nuclear power)
Ted, Matt and Bennet are in a used car parking lot, and Matt tries to make a phone call to his wife and was stop by Benett, saying they need to play it safe and hide from Mr Linderman. While they are talking, Ted warms all the snow off of a car and starts it and they head to New York.
The next scene, we see Sylar in Isaac’s apartment, where he is painting the future, he paints a picture of Ted and the nuclear man and suspects that he is the one that will blow up New York, which he doesn’t understand. So he calls Mohinder for help, while Mohinder talk to him, Mohinder tries to dial 911 and Sylar could hear him dialling, so he hang up on him.
DL blames Jessica for Micah’s disappearing. They suspects Linderman is responsible for his disappearing. Both of them leave to find Micah at Linderman’s Place.
In New York, Candice is in an apartment watching Micah and talking to Mr. Linderman on the phone. She feels that Linderman’s misuse her powers as she thinks she is much capable of better things. She then change herself to Niki, and tries to convince Micah that they need to help Mr. Linderman but Micah somehow sense that Niki is not his mum. Micah remain calm and pretend to listen to Niki/Candice.
Next we see Mohinder and Thompson meet in front of the same building where Candice and Micah are. Thompson asks Mohinder if he is willing to work for his company, Mohinder replies that it is the other way around. Thompson agrees and says the company are the ones helping this superbeings and he takes him to meet Molly Walker, a little girl who has the ability to find anyone, anywhere, at anytime but there’s is a problem, Molly has a disease which prevent her to use her power, the disease is the same kind that killed Mohinder’s sister. The only known cure was discovered by Dr. Suresh (Mohinder’s Dad) but no one knows what it is or where to get it?
Back to Isaac’s place, where Sylar is on the phone with someone asking if he can go visit. When the answer is apparently yes, he goes to the bathroom to get change. While he’s changing, Ando and Hiro walk in hoping to talk to Isaac. When they discovered his dead body, Hiro says that everything is happening just like what he saw. That’s when they hear noise coming from the bathroom, Sylar walks out and Hiro and Ando hides behind a painting. Sylar now looks like Gabriel, his hair neatly combed, wearing glasses and casual clothing, but Hiro recognizes him and points it out to Ando, who swallows hard. Because Sylar has the ability to hear even the slightest sound, he hears the swallow and their heartbeats. He follows the sound, which leads him to the painting while Hiro and Ando are hiding behind. Sylar says he can hear them and ask them to to come out, just when he flies the painting away, Hiro teleported himself and Ando to a store nearby and Sylar find no one behind the painting. Ando tells Hiro that he has to kill Sylar and so they follow him to look for a chance to kill him.
DL and Jessica phase into Linderman’s gallery, and begin to look around for clues of Micah’s whereabouts. They finds a picture of Micah after the bomb, life history of their family. DL exclaims that they were matched togeather to create Micah, and that nothing that they had was real.
Mohinder goes into Molly’s room to take a blood sample, and they begin to chat about the “boogeyman” -Sylar- and her powers. Mohinder says that he will help her to get better.
Peter and Claire tries to convince Nathan that Peter is the nuclear bomb that will blow up New York. Nathan says he will make some calls and figure this out. After they leaves, he calls Linderman.
Back to Sylar, he’s still being followed by Hiro and Ando, Sylar knocks on a door, the person he’s visiting is his mom. When they go inside, Sylar pulls out a snowglobe, which his mom collects, she places it with the other collections. His mom apparently feels that Sylar/Gabriel is no regular watch maker, she tells him that he could be president if he wants to.
Peter and Claire goes to Nathan’s office, Claire immediatly tries to leave when she sees Nathan talking to Thompson.
Candice/Niki tells Micah she is going to shower, Micah pretend that he is sorry about what he said earlier, as Candice goes inside the bathroom, Micah tries to escape. He runs down the hall, opens up a door only to find himself inside the same room he just escaped...again and again. Candice (now no longer pretending to be Niki) is out of the shower and tells Micah she can make him see anything she wants, so he better behave.
Back to Sylar again, we see him demonstrating to his mom how he is special and things turn ugly when he loses control of his powers. One object hits his mom and hurt her, afraid, she runs into her bedroom and locks the door.
Mohinder who is working on his research becomes frustrated and starts throwing papers across the room. Molly came in to hlep him pick up the papers. She finds a photo of Mohinder’s mom still pregnant together with his dad and sister. While talking about her disease, Molly says that the antibodies are hiding, like the boogeyman. She then gives Mohinder a picture of a star, claiming it will save him from the boogeyman.
Sylar apologise to his mum and ask her to come out of the room but she refuse but finally came out. She wants Sylar to leave and never come back, they begin to struggle and his mom grap hold of a scissor but end up stabbing herself in her heart. Just as this momemt, Hiro freeze the time and enter, he tries to kill Sylar but at the last second Sylar unfreezes and grabs the sword and break it. Sylar then calls him a coward. Just when he tries to kill Hiro, Ando runs in and Hiro teleports them both out and back to NY.
Back at the Petrellis house, Peter finds a gun in his drawer and give it to Claire, telling her that if he can’t control Ted’s power, he wants Claire to kill him. Claire is recluctant at first but when Peter show her a pic of Ted he drew on his sketchbook, she took the gun and they head out to find him.
Nathan’s mum came to see Nathan in his office, saying that she got a phone call from Linderman saying that Nathan was getting cold feet and reveals that she is part of the plot to blow up half the city. She convince him to have faith in them.
We see Sylar kneeling on the floor, painting a picture with his mom’s blood. he says that she was right, and that he can be president.
Peter and Claire are waiting in the same plaza - Kirby Plaza - where Mohinder met Thompson. Claire admits that before she met Peter, she hurt everyone that she loved by trying to be normal, and that she never felt like she belonged, not until she meet Peter. Peter says that he felt the same. Just as they were talking, Claire spots her dad (Bennet), Matt and Ted. When Ted stands beside Peter, Peter’s hands start to glow and he calls out to Claire. Ted shout “What’s happening” Bennett shout “He’s absorbing your power” Matt screams “Control it!” as Peters eyes and hand begin to glow... to be continued!!!!

I recently came to know about this "Raw Food Diet" thingy, I was curious and so I did some research and found that this diet has become so popular, thanks to many celebrity who has been following this diet, like actor Woody Harrelson, model Carol Alt, designer Donna Karan, and Chicago-based celebrity chef Charlie Trotter. So what is this "Raw Food Diet?"
The "Raw Food Diet" is based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, nuts, dried fruit, and seaweed. (prefereably organic food). It is believe that heating food above 116 degrees F will destroy enzymes in food that can assist in the digestion and absorption of food. Cooking is also thought to diminish the nutritional value and "life force" of food. Apparently, there are many benefits to eating "Raw Food", it helps to increased energy level, improved skin appearance (good news for those with acne problems), better digestion, weight loss (goods news for those who is always thinking of losing weight), reduced risk of heart disease. The "Raw Food Diet" contains little or no saturated fat and trans fats.
Heroes Ep.20: Five Years Gone
1 Comments Published by pink dimple on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 2:35 PM.Heroes Episode 20: five years Gone, previously Ando and Hiro was in Isaac’s apartment where they end up meeting the Future Hiro. Future Hiro tells them about the explosion, Sylar has exploded causing millions of people to die, he has been working on a timeline to prevent all this from happening, and he may have found a way. (Telling Peter to “Save the cheerleader, save the world”) Hiro and Ando inform him that Peter did indeed saved the cheerleader, but he did not kill Sylar. Future Hiro tells them to go back on the election day to kill Sylar, just as he was saying that, Matt Parkman (the guy who can read minds, now the head of Homeland Security), Haitian and his men break in and capture Hiro. However, Ando and Future Hiro manage to escape and they decided to get help from Peter Petrelli who is in Las Vegas.
In Las Vegas, they go to Niki’s club where she dances. Niki and Peter has become lovers. She tells them Peter has no interest in helping them. They ask about Bennet, she tells them that he’s in Texas. Right after they leave, Peter appears on the counter. Apparently he’s been there all the time watching, invisible. Both of them argue and that is where I learn that Micah and DL are both dead.
Meanwhile, Parkman questions Hiro but can’t get any information from him. He tries to read his mind but there’s no information in his mind regarding last 5 years. He didn’t realize that the Hiro they captured is the younger Hiro. Parkman calls the President, Nathan Petrelli, about their capture of Hiro Nakamura. He wants Parkman to use more power to get information out of him. Later, Nathan meets with Mohinder, the top science advisor. They talk about the explosion and curing the abilities of superbeings. When Mohinder points out that it is impossible to take their abilities back, Nathan tells him that the only cure is the extinction for the superbeings. Mohinder reminds Nathan that he is also one of them.
While Parkman forces Hiro (Future Hiro has been classified as a terrorist) to talk about his plans for tonight, the 5th anniversary of the explosion, he gets a call about Mohinder being at Isaac’s studio looking at the timeline. In Texas, Bennet (Claire step father) helps people with special powers to hide and be safe from the government. Ando and Future Hiro asks him for help to get young Hiro out. At first he refuse but later seems to agreed when he realise that Claire is still alive. Meanwhile at Issac’s apartment, Mohinder and Parkman discuss about the meaning of the strings. Mohinder believe that Hiro’s can change the future with his time traveling ability. But Parkman don’t believe.
Okay, let’s talk about the Cheerleader, Claire is a waitress now and has plans to get married with her fiance. While they were talking, her fiance points out the creepy man seating at her section, who turns out to be Bennet. He came to warn her that she needs to leave immediately. She hesitates for a moment but later agrees.
While Ando and Future Hiro waits for Bennet to return, Ando asks Future Hiro about what has happened to him. Before Hiro could answer, Parkman bursts in and captures Future Hiro. He was shock to find another Hiro and now believes that Hiro can time-travel. Just when Parkman tries to make arrest, Peter storm in and stops the time, he teleports Ando and Hiro away.
Bennet return, he was the one that gave in Hiro and Ando to Parkman, believing Hiro is a terrorist and can do harmful things, he was allowed by the government to save the harmless ones. Bennet also help Parkman’s family to hide too. And then he sees his assistant shot on the floor, Parkman puts a gun to Bennet’s head and he gets Claire location and shoots him. Claire convinces her fiance to elope and leave. But too late, Parkman’s is already there.
Mohinder and Nathan, in Isaac’s studio, talk about Hiro. Mohinder tells him that Hiro has found a way to stop Sylar. But Nathan doesn’t believe Hiro can do it. Parkman arrives and tells Nathan there’s two Hiros, and they have the young Hiro. Parkman wants to put him down, but Nathan wants Mohinder to do it. Parkman also tells him of Claire. Claire meets with Nathan. This is the exciting part, Nathan is actually Sylar himself. Then he slices Claire’s head and takes her power. Her power is the last one Sylar wants.
Peter and Niki have a fight, revealing that it was Peter that exploded New York city, not Sylar and Nathan blamed it on Sylar to protect him. Nathan (or Sylar) giving a speech while Peter, Future Hiro and Ando try to save Hiro. Mohinder and Parkman are getting ready to execute Hiro. Peter and Future Hiro know they can’t use their powers upstairs because of Haitian. Mohinder injects the poison to Haitian, just like Isaac has drawn in 9th Wonders. Peter, Ando and Future Hiro arrive while Mohinder tells Hiro to stop Sylar. But Hiro says he doesn’t know how to go back in time by himself, Just when Future Hiro tells them he will get him back, Parkman shots him in the back. Parkman calls Nathan/Sylar to tell Haitian is down. Nathan flies out not caring that he is in front of a huge crowd. While Future Hiro dies, Nathan/Sylar pulls Peter through the door and Peter recognises that he’s not Nathan. Sylar reveals himself and the battle begins. Hiro manage to time travel back in time and end up on top of the Deveuax building.

My experiment on fake eyelashes
0 Comments Published by pink dimple on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 10:05 PM.Recently I saw a lot of young girls on the street with long and beautiful eyelashes and I was thinking: "Are those real?" When one of my girlfriends told me that :"aiyo, those are fake eyelashes lah" But they look so real? Okay, I know some girls wear very dramatic eyelashes or "dolly eyelashes" I can tell from those but the ones I saw was quite natural. I have my doubts, so she suggested Missha's eyelashes, they came in different sizes and length, I went for the "not too dramatic" kind, XNS, which the salesgirl say is the most natural ones. It's kind of easy to put on actually and you can reuse them, just soak in warm water and the transparent glue will come off easily! I love this fake eyelashes! :p
