It's been 4 days since I started bringing lunch from home. So far so good. I have not been spending money on anything! Ya!!!! give myself a pat on the shoulder ;) well done! Beside me, few of my colleagues are doing the same thing too. I guess we were sort of inspired by our finance executive who is very thrifty. She's really funny and nice to talk to.
I guess some people might be thinking how much can you save for a meal? Why go through the trouble to pack lunch? But I realised that I have not gone to the ATM to withdraw cash so often now. This is good isn't it? Anyway, it's not that I'm stingy or what, there's really not much to eat near my office!

Yap! It's been almost 3 months at the new office and I'm running out of ideas as to what to eat during lunch! Almost everyday, we are eating at the cafeteria and the food there SUCKS! Except maybe for the chicken rice and the muslim stall. And the next best place to eat is at the market which is about 10 - 15 mins walk, and we will only go if the weather is not too hot.
Maybe it's a good idea to bring food from home? But I can't wake up early to cook!!!!!!! Arrrrhhh.. what the heck, I'll eat whatever I can find.

Recipe from Woman Weekly June 2007
INGREDIENTS:
- 180g sugar (use common sugar)
- 185ml extra light olive oil (available at supermarkets)
- 3 large eggs
- 225g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp bicarbonate soda (available at supermarkets)
- 250g carrots, grated
- 50g chopped almonds
- 50g sultanas or raisins, chopped
- 50g cranberries, chopped (available at supermarkets)
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
1. 280g cream cheese (available at supermarkets)
2. 3 tbsp icing sugar
PREPARATIONS:
1. Preheat oven at 180C. Meanwhile, place sugar and olive oil in a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric beater until well-mixed, about 3mins. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.
2. Sift flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda together. Gradually beat this dry mixture inot the sugar and egg mixture.
3. Fold carrots, almonds, sultanas and cranberries into the mixture. Do this in batches so that everything is well-folded. Pour batter into 22-cm springform tin.
4. Bake in the oven for 50 mins. test the cake with a skewer inserted into the centre. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Allow the cake to cool on a rack.
5. Meanwhile, prepare frosting. Beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth, about 4 to 5 mins. Add icing sugar and beat well.
6. Once the cake is cool about 20 mins, spread the cream cheese frosting over and leave in the fridge to set.

HANDPHONE WITH SPEAKERS, SO ANNOYING!
With the launch of handphone with speakers, there’s a increasing number of people ‘showing off’ their new gadget in public. Personally, I find it annoying!
These inconsiderate people playing their music loudly on the bus, when some of us are trying to watch the TVMobile or trying to catch a nap after a long day of work. What makes them think that we want to listen to their music? Why can’t they use earphones? I really don’t appreciate their kind of music! YOU DON’T HAVE TO SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD!
